History

 

Established in 1987 in West Unity Ohio, Kamco Industries, a subsidiary of Kumi Kasei, established itself as a full service provider of product design and manufacturer of injection, sheet molded and Formed Fiber Felt products. With business expansion in Bradford Ontario (1997) and Clanton Alabama (2000), and Guadalajara Mexico in 2010, the Kumi North America group has achieved continued growth with combined total annual sales exceeding $140 million (US).

Research & Development

Kumi North America possesses global resources and networking capabilities for future production development. With R&D facilities in West Unity, Ohio and Tochigi Japan, the Kumi Kasei Group has the technical expertise and experience to focus on consumer safety, environmental efficiency, and styling that appeal to our customers. Additional Kumi Kasei subsidiaries in Asia and the UK increase our ability to perform on a global basis. This collaboration enhances our core technologies and increases value to our customers in areas of materials, machine technology, and manufacturing processes to drive improvements in vehicle weight reduction, decreased processing cost, and increased value.

 

Product Design

Amid the manufacturing industries continued reduction in the development cycle, Kumi North America establishes an early partnership with its customers in the development stages. Equipped in house with Catia V5, Solid Molding capabilities, Mold Flow and performance simulation, our engineers provide immediate knowledge and resources. Collaboration is also achieved on site at our customers' location with individual resources throughout the product design maturation process. 3D non-contact laser scanning is utilized to provide state-of-the-art dimensional verification. Instant dimensional data is reported in relation with actual part data. Inside testing equipment and outside resources are utilized for short and long cycle performance testing.

 

Networked Administration

Kumi North America utilizes a state-of-the-art ERP Software system across all three North American facilities, promoting significant cost, quality, and productivity improvements throughout the organization with a standard business process. The system enables management of Accounting, Production Control, Inventory, Shipping, Human Resources and other critical business processes based on real-time, highly accurate data at all operations. Ultimately this translates to increased customer satisfaction.
